Meet the Cocoba Team

Behind every great business is a great team of hardworking people who make the magic happen! And when it comes to Cocoba, that statement couldn’t be more true.

Since 2012, Cocoba has grown tremendously from its original pop-up stand at Brent Cross Shopping Centre, to having a popular chocolate café in Bluewater Shopping Centre, an online store with over a hundred delicious chocolate products, and we also now supply many retailers across the country.

Amidst the craziness and excitement of our business journey so far, one thing is for certain: we couldn’t have come all this way without a dedicated team of people behind us, steering us in the right direction and cheering us on every step of the way.

Here's just a few of our key team members at Cocoba Chocolate, sharing the best parts about their roles and their favourite Cocoba products:

Darek – Operations Manager

Darek joined the team a whopping nine years ago in 2013, originally working in the Bluewater café when our doors had only just opened!

He has since worked his way up to being our Operations Manager, and he is a huge asset to the Cocoba team.

Day to day, Darek looks after just about everything! From managing our four key departments at the chocolate factory, to health and safety, to keeping a close eye on projects and ensuring all processes are operating efficiently. He makes sure everyone has exactly what's needed when they need it to keep our chocolate factory running as smoothly as our chocolate!

Darek's favourite part about his role is that he has been able to see and be part of how much progress the company has made over the last few years, and he really enjoys the fact that no two days are the same. There's always something new in the pipe line!

When it comes to Darek's favourite product, his guilty pleasure is anything caramel flavoured. He especially loves our Salted Caramel Truffles, Salted Caramel Bar, and he's said that the Caramel Sea Salt Fudge is to die for! 

Nick – Production Manager

With the company growing so rapidly in the last few years, we needed another pair of helping hands to help us to keep things running smoothly in our Production team – so that’s where Nick comes in!

Nick has been with the company for a grand total of two weeks, and he’s been quick to get stuck in and start learning the ropes so he can spruce up our chocolate-making processes.

So far, his favourite part about joining Cocoba is that he loves being involved in a growing company where so many great products are made by hand, and he finds it exciting to think where the company could be going in the next ten years.

Although he’s trying to be good at the moment, he has been tempted by our Milk Hot Chocolate Spoon with Marshmallows (and we don’t blame him either!). 

He's loving getting involved with the production of all our scrumptious chocolate products and playing a key part in one of the most important parts of Cocoba Chocolate!

Ewelina – Packing Assistant

Since October 2021, Ewelina has been packaging our handmade chocolate treats and prettifying each product with the final finishing touches. From hot chocolate spoons to our stunning Easter eggs, Ewelina ensures all products are carefully wrapped and beautifully presented to make wow-factor gifts that will impress any recipient.

Her most favourite part about her role is making sure all items are well-presented with neatly placed labels and stunning ribbons. She has recently been enjoying wrapping up the variety of Easter eggs which have been produced in our Kent chocolate factory, ready for shipping out to our chocolate café and to our customers across the country.  

When we asked Ewelina what her most loved Cocoba product is, she quite rightly said “it’s hard to pick just one!”.

However, if she would have to narrow down her choice between just a few products, her favourites would be our Milk Chocolate Hot Chocolate Bombe with Marshmallows and our Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate Spoon.

Luis - Café  Manager

Luis has worked at our Bluewater Chocolate Café since its earliest days when it opened in 2013, overseeing the day-to-day running of the café and keeping on top of supplies to ensure we can bring you the very best experience with our chocolate desserts, savoury snacks, and high quality hot drinks! 

Another key part of Luis' role is to make sure our chocolate café is in tip-top shape so that our customers are nothing short of impressed when they visit, and can rest assured knowing their food and drinks are handled properly in accordance with health and safety regulations.

And there's no question about it, Luis has done a marvellous job of this. In fact, our café has been awarded a 5-star food hygiene rating for three years in a row!

Out of the huge selection of chocolate desserts and goodies we offer in store at our chocolate café, we couldn't possibly ask Luis to pick a favourite between our beloved Belgian Chocolate Waffles, Injected Chocolate Croissants and Melting Bombe Desserts. They're just too good to only pick the one (and our customers certainly feel the same!).
